Another Solid Performance by the Raptors

The Raptors ran away with another win against the Nets last night, defeating them 101-79.

I have to say, they played amazing defense. They held down the Nets as they only shot 31% from the field (26-of-83). And best of all, they shut down Carter. He only finished with 3 points and shot an embarrassing 0-for-13from the field. It was definitely their best defensive performance yet.

Since Sam Mitchell was fired, interim head coach Jay Triano can finally smile about something :). Although their rebounding was not great (they were out rebounded 50-37), they've won two straight and if Toronto plays consistently in future games, I believe that they've got potential under the hands of Triano.

The Raptors really do have potential. Chris Bosh always plays amazing each and every game, and it's not just him. Calderon, Graham, Moon and Parker can have great games too. Roko Ukic is a coming up player that has great potential and is a great addition to the Raptors' lineup, and can play up to Calderon's level at times.

Last night's win was a first step of the journey lead by Jay Triano. It's a first step that should lead to many other steps that the Raptors can look back and smile, just like the way Triano can look and smile back at this game. If Jay Triano leads them to the right place, the Raptors will have a great season. Otherwise, the Raptors better pick up the pace or they could possible say bye bye to the playoffs.
